Oneida Lake, Onondaga Lake, Skaneateles Lake, Salmon River & More
Central New York offers excellent freshwater fishing opportunities — from walleye and bass on Oneida Lake to trout in the Salmon River, perch and panfish on Onondaga Lake, and lake trout in Skaneateles. As of March 2026, public boat launches, fishing piers, and shore access points are available across Onondaga County and nearby areas — convenient for anglers in Clay, Liverpool, Cicero, North Syracuse, Baldwinsville, Fayetteville, and surrounding CNY towns (~5–45 min drive).
NYS DEC regulations apply (license required for 16+, check seasons/sizes/limits). Many spots are free or low-fee; some launches require permits or parking fees. Bring your own boat or fish from shore/pier.
